_Resident Evil: Revelations Review
_
Jill Valentine and new partner Parker Luciani were sent to the Mediterranean to investigate a stranded ship where the last coordinates of their lost comrades were found...................................you can tell that this is the beginning of yet another resident evil adventure, but is it scary is what I'm sure fans want to know. All I can say is that it scares at points but never gets as scary as resident evil 1, but still a must for Resident Evil fans who want a return to the creepier vibe of the early games.
Game-play:
If you have played Resident Evil 4 you will immediately feel at home when playing. The game controls exactly alike except that in revelations it requires more strategy because unlike 4 you can't buy ammo, but thankfully the game has a new item called the Genesis that allows you to scan for hidden items in rooms. Another new addition is the ability to customize weapons with effects. Both are a welcome additions to the Resi franchise and should be used on future games. The game has 4 different control schemes to choose from, so you'll surely find a play style that fits you.
8/10
Graphics:
This game officially takes first place in the graphics department on the 3ds. The game has excellent lighting and shading that really brings the characters to life. The game in parts have comparable graphics to their console counterparts. The character models are smooth and realistic looking. The game has the best use of 3-d yet making zombies come to life right before your eyes. This games graphics are so good that when you play other games on the console they will look ugly, that is how good it is. The current benchmark of how graphics of the 3-DS should be.
9/10
Sound:
The grunts and moans of the ooze and the mutating humans aboard the ship will bring shivers to your spine. The fully orchestrated soundtrack gives you tense mood through out the adventure. The voice acting in this game is excellent but marred down by poorly written dialogue. Overall you will want to wear your headphones through the whole adventure adventure.
9/10
Verdict:
The game doesn't cut corners because it is a portable game, rather it expands the Resi experience and takes it to a whole new level. The game gets all the good from the past series and minimized the bad making it a great game for people new to the series. After finishing the game you also unlock a raid mode which is basically a crazy nonstop action mode where you can play as all the charters you encountered throughout the game. Raid mode has three different difficulty levels and the higher the difficulty the better the equipment you can get. This mode is one of the best uses of online yet on the console allowing you to play online or with a friend locally. This game will last you a while. It is a must own on the Nintendo 3DS.
